- We can rely on an alternative source of heat for the small number of operating hours a year such as gas or electric resistance heating, when the HP has less carbon benefit
- This way, even cold climates below HP minimum temperature limits can achieve significant decarbonization
- Making positive steps toward decarb goals doesn’t mean you have to 100% electrify right away
